It’s really hard to believe but I haven’t made a single post or even looked at this blog in over two years. I didn’t stay away for any other reason that life became crazy busy and I became a little worn out from dealing with my own feelings. So I will spend a little time filling in.
I quit one of my jobs that was part-time to devote more hours to building websites. I built more websites then took another part-time job that has become time-consuming in itself. So I am right back to working many more hours than if I had a full-time job. Whew! More on that later.
Then last summer my dear husband became very ill. He is an insulin dependent diabetic was admitted to the hospital with DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis). This was due to an infected tooth that was pulled and sepsis! It caused his blood sugar to skyrocket up to 850. He spent 10 days unconscious and on a vent in ICU. During that time his kidneys shut down, infection raged through his body, and his heart function became very bad. He had to undergo many treatments like dialysis to help his body return to somewhat normal.
When he finally woke up and was stable enough to move into his own hospital room his doctors told us repeatedly how very blessed and lucky we were because they did not expect him to make it. He was able to come home after spending many days in the hospital and began a long road to recovery including physical therapy and had two stents put in to bring his heart function back. I am so happy to be able to say he is doing MUCH better now. He has some lasting effects but praise the lord he is with us! I may write a post another day on how we managed through that very scary time of our lives.
Our children are all doing very well. V is finishing up her junior year in college. She makes us proud beyond words. Our Cat (the middle) is doing great in school and excelling in choir. She stunned us all with a solo during the school Christmas program. Her voice is truly lovely! Bub is making his way through seventh grade year and was asked to be in the high school jazz band as he now plays the saxophone. Sadly we lost our beloved cat Sirius in 2013 . I made a total spur of the moment decision upon seeing a shelter cat on FB that she would be perfect for our family so we now have Lily who is an inside cat. As you can see we don’t spoil her at all! She shares room with our shih Tzu Pheobe and we have another fur baby on the way Raylan, a boxer puppy who we will pick up next month.
So on my part I decided to pick back on where I left off on this blog.
